Buxton's is a historical building filled with charm and magic! It's beauty and history add an ambiance to compliment any event. 

Located in downtown Anacortes, it was originally built in 1897 as a church and is now a stunning blank canvas for all types of events, including:

  • Weddings and special events

  • Shows and performances for music, comedy, improv, dancing, etc.

  • Meetings and conferences

  • Recitals and music/dance lessons

  • Classes

  • Markets

  • Celebrations

  • And more! 

We are fortunate enough to be able to rent out the building to allow our community to have a perfect venue for any occasion.  See the rental options below to find the perfect match for your event.

Rental Options

Entire Facility for a Full Day

With over 5,000 square feet, this venue is perfect for all types of large events, including weddings, musical performances, public speaking engagements, and more. Renting for a full day gives you enough time for setup and breakdown for any type of event.

 

The Main Hall boasts a stage with excellent live acoustics and room to seat up to 200 guests.

 

The Fireplace Room is a cozy setting for dinners, cocktail hours, classes, or breakout rooms.

The Second Floor has two areas plus 4 rooms that work wonderfully for a bridal suite, breakout rooms for one-on-ones, musical lessons, and more!

The building has tables and chairs for guests to use however you'd like. Includes 4 large round tables (seats 8) and 2 medium rounds (seats 4), plus 2 8-foot rectangular tables and 120 chairs for seating.

The full venue rental includes the entire facility from 6AM - 12PM. Please note that rental hours must include time for setup and breakdown.

Rental Rate:

Fridays to Sundays $750 per day*

Mondays to Thursdays $625 per day

Only need the venue for a few hours? We've got you covered!

 

With all of the features listed above for the full day rental, this is a great option if you only need the venue for a shorter event. 

Rental Rate:

Fridays to Sundays $70* per hour (*discounted rate through end of Dec. 2022)

Mondays to Thursdays $60* per hour

Main Hall and Courtyard by the Hour

The Main Hall is a great option for music performances, comedy shows, dance events and classes, public speaking opportunities and more! With a stage, great live acoustics, access to the balcony with stage lighting and an entrance through the adorable courtyard, the Main Hall is a perfect space to support fun, creative events!

If you don't need the entire building, this is a great option for you. Please note that another group may be able to rent the Fireplace Room at the same time as your event.

Rental Rate:

Fridays to Sundays $55* per hour (*discounted rate through end of Dec. 2022)

Mondays to Thursdays $45* per hour

Fireplace Room by the Hour

The Fireplace Room is ideal for smaller gatherings, including intimate classes, meetings, and more.

With access to the two side rooms that are adjacent to the Fireplace Room, along with access to a small room with a fridge and counter space, it is also perfect for caterers to prep and store food. The space is not equipped for cooking food (no stove/oven), so it is perfect to bring in your favorite food truck for events, or serve a delicious charcuterie spread by a local chef.  

 

Please note that another group may be able to rent the Main Hall and Courtyard at the same time as your event.

Rental Rate:

Fridays to Sundays $45* per hour (*discounted rate through end of Dec. 2022)

Mondays to Thursdays $35* per hour

Discounts for Non-Profit Organizations or booking multiple day events

Please contact us for pricing options for Non-Profit events or booking events that occur on two or more days.

Deposits, Other Charges, and Venue Notes

Deposit

50% of the event rental fee is due with signed contract. Fully refundable up until 2 weeks prior to event date. Venue reserves the right to retain the deposit after the event to cover damages or cleaning fees. Remaining balance is due no later than 2 weeks prior to event date.

Other Charges

Cleaning: Client is required to clean (sweep, vacuum, and mop) after the event. If venue is not cleaned after event, the venue cleaning charge is $100/hour which will be deducted from the deposit rate. Cleaning fees will not be charged if client cleans and returns venue to original condition.

Overtime Hours: Rental hours must include time for set-up and breakdown. Please plan accordingly. Overtime charge is $100 per hour calculated in 30 minute increments.

Venue Notes

Client is expected to respect the property. Client is not permitted to have open flames (candles), put any nails or holes into the walls, or drag furniture across the wood floors. We have a No-Glitter Policy as it is near impossible to clean. This building is over 125 years old so we would like to keep it as well preserved as possible!
