What to know for Markets at the Port in Anacortes

Venue is indoors, with additional space by the front entrance for food trucks or trailers.

Located at 100 Commercial Avenue, Anacortes, WA 98221

Vendor Parking:

Parking is quite limited at this venue and the spots directly next to the building we want to leave open for shoppers during market hours.

We request you do not park directly next to or in front of the building during market hours (10AM - 3PM). These spaces can be used by vendors for unloading/loading before and after the market.

Vendors can park on O Avenue or off of 3rd Street. It is about a block walk so please plan accordingly. Please do not park on Commercial Avenue, directly next to the building, or on 2nd Avenue as these are all of the spaces we want to leave open for shoppers.

Market Hours: Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 14-15, 10AM - 3PM

Setup Details

All booth spaces are pre-reserved. If you need a reminder on which spot you reserved, a map will be posted at the bottom of this webpage as we get closer to the event date (the most updated map will be posted the Friday morning before the market event) and booths indoors will be marked off with tape so you have guidelines of where to setup when you arrive. Outdoor booths will be marked off with chalk.

Outdoor Vendors: Please bring weights for your tent - Anacortes is ALWAYS windy.

Load-in:

There are two entrances to the building that will be accessible during setup and breakdown. On the north side of the building, there is a door off of the dock. On the east side of the building is the main entrance which can also be used.

For Load-In: You can park in pull-in parking spaces on the south side of the building. If you are entering through the north door on the pier, you can park along the building on the east side on cement (please do not drive on the wood dock).  See the bottom of this webpage for a map on where to unload.

Please move your car as soon as you are finished unloading at park where directed above under "Vendor Parking."

Setup Times:

Friday, Oct. 13th: 5:15* PM - 7 PM

Saturday, Oct. 14th setup: 8* AM - 9:45 AM

* Building will be unlocked promptly at these hours. Please do not show up early. The building offices close at 5PM on Friday and we need to be sure they have space to leave without us blocking them in.

Sunday, Oct. 15th: Building will open at 9:15AM if you need to zhuzh up your booth. If you need more time, please email Frannie at creativeavenue.nw@gmail.com

Please plan to have your booth ready for customers no later than 9:50AM each day. We always seem to have early bird shoppers so it is good to be ready.

You can leave your setup overnight on Friday and Saturday nights - we will have the building locked by 7PM at the latest on Friday and 3:30PM at the latest on Saturday, and it won't be unlocked until 8AM Saturday and 9:15AM on Sunday. We suggest putting a sheet or covering your items for some extra protection if you feel it's needed. Creative Avenue LLC is not liable for any lost or stolen goods.

Once you have unloaded your car, please move it as soon as possible so other vendors may unload as well. See "Vendor Parking" on where to move your car to. (Reiterating this point as it often gets missed.)

What to know about the Booth Spaces:

The booth size you reserved is the amount of space you have to play with. Booths are all shoulder to shoulder with their neighboring vendors so please plan accordingly (meaning there is not a path in between booths to walk through). You'll want to plan your booth layout with an option to be able to move around your displays without entering your neighbors booth.

If you are unable to make it for any reason, please let us know - even if it is the morning of! We want to make sure there are no gaps and will move vendors around if someone can't make it. Email creativeavenue.nw@gmail.com

WIFI:

The property does have WIFI and decent cell coverage.

Wifi is free and does not need a password.

Breakdown Details

Vendors are not permitted to break down their booth prior to 3PM as it provides a negative experience for shoppers. Please plan on breaking down your booth prior to pulling your car to the the lot to make breakdown go as smoothly and allow for cars to pull up easily.

Breakdown will happen Sunday from 3-4:30ish PM.

The only exception made for early breakdown is for outdoor vendors if the weather is being ridiculous (intense wind/rain/etc).

Booth needs/
Building info

All vendors must provide their own setup, including tables, linens displays, and tents (if you are outside).

Please note: Tables are *not* provided with your space. If you do need to borrow a chair from the venue, please plan to return it to the storage area at the end of the weekend.

Electrical outlets are available in most booths, some may need an extension cord.

The Floor: *IMPORTANT* - This is an old industrial building, and the wooden floor planks have some gaps. High heels can be a trip hazard and are not recommended to wear. Not that I know a lot of vendors who wear heels on market days - but it's worth noting. It also may feel drafty due to the gaps, so bring layers if you run cold.

Also - if you sell small items - consider bringing a rug or some type of floor covering to use in your booth in case a small item gets dropped. We wouldn't want you to lose product through the cracks!

Building Rules on Decorations: The building does not allow any type of open flame, confetti, or glitter. We will be fined if there is confetti or glitter left on site, so please refrain from using them on your products or in your booth décor.

Booth lighting: The building is old and the lighting can be inconsistent in areas. If your items have specific lighting needs, please bring display lights and an extension cord (or even better if they are battery powered - I love using a Halo Bolt portable charger for everything!)

A quick tip...

...bring lighting even if you don't think your booth needs it! During gray days which we often have, it will help brighten up your booth and attract more customers. Do note that not all booths have outlet access. Please plan accordingly.

Walls: Please be mindful if you want to hang items on the walls of the building. We recommend that you use command strip hooks or 3M tape - but it must be fully removed once the event is complete.

Layers: The building can be a very drafty if it's a windy day. Bring layers just in case you run cold. We will have the heat one - but areas of this building are definitely colder than others. Bring WARM layers.

Bathrooms: There are bathrooms located in the building, as well as outdoors.

Food: Bring snacks to keep nourished throughout the day. There will be one food vendor (shout out to Dane Good Coffee Company) - or the closest food to the building is on Commercial Avenue and 4th Street (Rockfish Grill, Mama Wing, Brown Lantern, etc).

Parking

We request that vendors not park directly next to the building between 10AM and 3PM (market hours) as we want to leave this open as much as possible for shoppers.

Yes - this has been said multiple times. Why? Because it gets missed frequently, I get asked where to park on the market day, and we have had to request vendors move their car during the market which is not our favorite conversation to have to have.

See bottom of this page for a map and more details about parking.

Payment types

All vendors need to have their own payment processing methods.

There is not a cash machine on site, so if you are allowing cash payments, please be sure to bring your own petty cash to make change.

Vendors can choose any method in processing their own payments. Many vendors use Square, Venmo, or Paypal to process electronic payments as well as accepting cash. This is all completely up to you and what works for your business.

There is Wifi Available if you don't want to use cell data and the wifi is open (no password needed).

Parking for Unloading

Please note these spots are just for unloading/loading.

The Yellow Area on Railroad Avenue is for cars to load/unload. As soon as you have unloaded your car, please move your car to a parking spot as noted above so other vendors can have access.

Vendors who want to enter through the north entrance off of the dock can park to the right of the TRAILER spot (Wild Dixie). Please do not park directly on the dock.

Please move your car as soon as you are done unloading to make room for other vendors. Parking details are listed on this page toward the top.

The second image shows in PINK where vendors should park during the market hours (please move your car before 10AM).

Please do not park in the orange areas so we can leave those spots open for shoppers.
