About Creative Avenue
Creative Avenue NW in an independent platform producing curated pop-up markets around Skagit Valley.
Summer MakersFest is our biggest event of the season, bringing together 40+ local artists, designers, and small-batch makers for a single day of shopping at Maple Hall in downtown La Conner.
Our crew is the reason the day works. You're the first face vendors see in the morning and the calm hand on the floor when things get busy.
Creative Avenue Markets began in 2021, founded by Frannie Bigge. She has hosted over 3 dozen markets since she began and is committed to creating experiences where vendors feel supported and welcome.

ROLE 1: 3 Assistants Needed
Setup Crew [Early Shift]
6 AM - 10 AM
$18/hour or trade options for compensation
What you'll do

Measure, tape, and label booth spaces using our floor plan

Direct vendors during load-in

Carry tables, chairs, and signage to assigned spots

Set up signage

Stage the welcome table, info booth, and consignment booth display area

Troubleshoot small setup issues with the lead coordinator

Final walk-through before 10 AM doors
You're a good fit if you...
-
Are a morning person and can reliably show up on time (5:45 AM call time)
-
Can lift ~30 lbs and stay on your feet for the full shift
-
Communicate clearly and ask questions early

Like checklists and a fast-moving morning

Are pro-active and can help where you see it is needed (versus waiting for directions)
ROLE 2: 2 Assistants Needed (One spot already filled)
Market Hours Assistant
9:45 AM - 4:30 PM
$18/hour or trade options for compensation
What you'll do
-
Welcome shoppers and answer questions about the market and vendors

Support vendors with breaks, restocks, and small needs throughout the day

Run the info booth (lost & found, maps, raffles)

Help process light POS / cash transactions at the welcome table (18+)

Monitor floor flow and flag anything to the lead

Light end-of-day teardown (return tables to storage, pack up remaining consignment display items and marketing materials, collect signage, remove floor tape/labels from vendor booth areas)
You're a good fit if you...

Are warm, calm, and comfortable talking to strangers all day. Being personable is required.

Have any retail, hospitality, or event experience (nice to have, not required)
Compensation Options
Pick what works for you. All compensation is confirmed when you're offered a position.
Hourly
$18/hour
Mailed via check within 7 days of the market
Booth Credit
1.5x value
Trade your shift for credit toward a vendor booth at our next Creative Avenue Market (the holiday market on Saturday, Nov. 28th in Anacortes)
Consignment Credit
1.5x value
Trade your shirt (or part of your shift) for credit toward selling your art on consignment at the welcome desk
Market Host Internship
Hands-on coaching and experience

You do not need prior market or event experience, but that is a plus!
Day-of Logistics
Date: Saturday, July 25th, 2026
Location: Maple Hall, 104 Commercial St., La Conner, WA 98257
Venue: Indoors, ADA accessible
Market Shopping Hours: 10AM -4PM
Parking: Paid lot one block from the venue - parking vouchers will be provided for free parking all day
Bring: Closed toed shoes, a refillable water bottle, snacks, and layers
What happens next

Prep Email + Call: A detailed email will go out the week of the event and we will have a staff call the Wednesday or Thursday before the event to go over any last minute details

Market Day: Be sure to add it to your calendar. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to your shift to ensure you find parking

Payment / Credit Issued: Within 7 days of the market, a check will be mailed, or alternative compensation coordinated (booth credit or otherwise)
